Girijatmaj Ashtavinayak Temple is the only temple of the Ashtavinayak which is on a mountain and is built in the locale of Buddhist Cave.
Girijatmaj Ashtavinayak – Lenyadri Ganpati temple is the sixth Lord Ganesha Temple to be visited on the Ashtavinayak Mandir Pilgrimage.
These caves are also known as Ganesh Gufa.
Here, Lord Ganesh is worshipped as Girijatmaj.
The Lord is believed to be his manifestation as an infant.
Girija is another name for Goddess Parvati and Atamaj means Son.The temple is carved out of a single stone hill, which has 307-315 steps.
It is approached after climbing 307 - 315 steps, Out of 18 Buddhist caves in the mountain, Girijatmaj Ganpati Temple is in the 8th cave.
These are called Ganesh-leni as well.
This cave is very cool in every weather and this temple/caves very clean.
Outside the caves cool water falling from the mountain.
So many monkeys play and fun here with peoples.
After the rainy season the caves looking very beautiful and green mountain.
The temple features a wide hall with no supporting pillars.
The temple hall is 53 feet long, 51 feet wide and 7 feet in height.
